SUPER EAGLES VS ANGOLA : THE SHORT TAKES.

In a fiesty game of football fireworks, the Super Eagles of Nigeria piped the Palancas Negras 
of Angola 1 : 0 for a Semi Final berth at the on going tournament and as the scoreline suggests it was a narrow win and a close call that could have gone either way. The game lived up to its hype and billing as it aligned perfectly with the postulations, analysis and thinking of most football pundits and authoritative voice.

With the Eagles showing remarkable improvement and cohesion with every game and developing an attacking potency of the trio of Osimhen, Lookman and Simon, it was however Lookman that is shining brightest with his delivery of some crucial goals.
Osimhen, smarting from his being crowned as the African Footballer of the Year and his exploits in Italian League invoked fear at the heart of most defence line and setting in this competition, resulting in some hasty and uncoordinated decisions by defenders. Akin to the honey being attracted and surrounded by bees, Osimhen pulled jittery defenders to himself, even unconsciously, a development that has been effectively exploited by the Nigerian attack with Lookman in his excellent football mind and intelligence wrecking havoc from this. His goal against Angola was a rehash and repeat of this play as defenders swarmed on Osimhen, Lookman was released in a pocket of space to be picked out by Moses Simon with a defence splitting cut back that left the net in a "Magic System" dance from the connecting ferocious shot from the Super Eagles hitman.

I am but worried though, as the much "trumpeted" and tight defence of the Nigerian team was breached a few times by the highly mobile Angolan flair players and I hope this doesnot become the "Achilles Heel" of the team. 

The Nigerian team faces yet another dangerous prospect in  either South Africa or Cape Verde in the Semi Finals, any which way, we are good, for you have to beat the best to be the best.

    Super Eagles with their sterling performance have sent an unambiguous message to the Bafana Bafana that slot for the finals belong to them.
