A HARVEST OF SAD EMOTIONS AS ANTHONY JOSHUA AND KAMARU USMAN LOSE

KAMARU USMAN JOINS COMPARTRIOT IN A LOOSING STREAK LOOSES UFC WELTERWEIGHT TITLE TO LEON EDWARDS

In the same vain, in a night of sad emotional harvest for sports loving Nigerians,Kamaru Usman, the UFC 278 Welterweight Champion lost his belt and title to Leon Edwards in the warm night of Colorado. It was definately not a good night at "the office" for Joshua and Kamaru, pugilists  of Nigerian roots and decent, unlucky for Kamaru who before the blistering sidekick to the ear and a patch of the jaw line, was just two minutes away from winning the fight.Given the situation and manner of defeat of both fighters, Kamaru will sit back and review things,do some soul searching, regroup and come back for a rematch with the likelihood of reclaiming his belt,. as for Joshua he should forever avoid  Usyk or better still have a look in on retirement .

USYK WINS IT IN A DECISION AGAINST JOSHUA....REMAINS CHAMP AS JOSHUA'S CAREER NOSE DIVES
Oleksandr Usyk displayed his cockiness and his unorthodox fighting style and skills while taking on Anthony Joshua in "The Rage on the Red Sea" clash. In front of the vociferous, cheering and jeering crowd in Saudi Arabia, both boxers gave a good account of themselves with so much ferocity, each of them conscious and not loosing sight of what is at stake.Joshua, although with a much better performance than the last time ou,t didnot have much of an answer or "antidote" to Usyk's agility, speed and aggression, although allowing the much taller and bigger opponent to take the centerstage in the ring, forcing him to fighting in retreat for most times but ccasionally falling back on his signature style of attacking and making forays with his  fast combination of punches. Its a setting that was not not comfortable but which he found a way to manage to his advantage, although for most part risking a killer punch from Anthony Joshua. It was going well according to the fight strategy from Joshua's corner with hard punches to the body, even though some of them landed below the range,it was executed to near perfection until two major events crept in.Joshua started building up and eventually went all out on the offence in round 9, caging and reigning combination of punches on the Ukrainian that left him visibly rattled as he went back to his corner at the end of that round but this very act unchained him which is usually the case from his previous fights. It was alleged that Oleksandr Usyk was from a long lineage of a warrior clan and usually would not take this lying low and true to that assertion he came out in round 9 and thumped and pumped Joshua, avenging the humiliation of the previous round,in fact Joshua didnot really recover but managed to fight back in the later part of the round and tried to match up but not eclipse or over run his more physically feat opponent which was the only way he could have won the fight. It is either a knock out or a barrage of sustained, unreplied combination of punches that could have given him the fight at this point, as Usyk was ahead on the Judges scorecard. This feat was doable and achievable but the second event which is usually the bane and major setback in Anthony Joshua's setup and makeup crept in,he lost stamina,he ran out of gas to put it succinctly. And so Olek took a second consecutive victory over Anthony Joshua to defend his unified WBO, WBA and IBF world heavyweight titles over the course of an epic 12-round showdown that should now make Joshua to give a serious thought to his career beyond the tears, rage and outburst he displayed at the end of fight proceedings in the King Abdullah Sports City Arena in Jeddah, venue if the fight as his meltdown on the night, dampened the charged excitement and the  airy  breeze from the Saudi Arabian desert.

  3. Anthony Joshua may be down but he is definitely not out. Watch out, sometimes what one needs to get to the next level is a bit of "humbling". At 32, I see him coming up and reigning for a few more years.

  6. Oleksandr Usyk did a better job , strong skills to defeat his opponent ,two defeats experienced with Usyk not good , Joshua need to change his training team as a way forward
